Nevada Volunteer Center Honors Disaster Action Teams

Volunteers with the Southern Nevada Chapter Disaster Action Teams (DAT) received the 2008 Community Enrichment Award from the Volunteer Center of Southern Nevada. At a ceremony with several hundred in attendance, volunteer Tim Matthews (captain of the Las Vegas disaster team) accepted the award on behalf of all DAT volunteers in southern Nevada. The Volunteer Center also presented the chapter with a $1,000 check to support the important work of these dedicated volunteers. Approximately 145 volunteers serve on teams in southern Nevada.
