Mid-Florida Chapters Collaborate on Wildfire Response

In response to wildfires raging in Brevard and Volusia Counties, chapters in the Mid-Florida Region of the American Red Cross–comprised of the Polk County Chapter (Winter Haven, Fla.), the American Red Cross of Central Florida (Orlando), the Space Coast Chapter (Rockledge, Fla.) and Florida’s Coast to Coast Chapter (Daytona Beach)–responded to and collaborated on the relief operation. During the four days the fires raged, Red Crossers served more than 4,000 meals and snacks, and shelters provided overnight lodging for hundreds.
